Sophie hopkins steps onto the world stage!

Talk about a soccer memory of a lifetime!

FCGS player Sophie Hopkins had the incredible opportunity to serve as an official Player Escort at the FIFA World Cup 26™, walking onto the field for the Switzerland vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina match on June 18 at SoFi Stadium.

The opportunity started right here at FC Golden State, when Sophie’s coaches learned about the Player Escort opportunity and connected her with Football For Her, encouraging her to get involved and take advantage of an experience beyond the club.  Through Football For Her, Sophie was selected to participate in the Quaker and Common Goal Player Escort initiative, which created opportunities for more than 1,400 young people from community soccer organizations across the United States to walk onto the pitch alongside World Cup players.

For Sophie, that connection led all the way from the FCGS fields to a World Cup field—an unforgettable opportunity to experience the game she loves on its biggest stage.
